Insecurities

Every author’s journey is unique. My path has taken a few twists and turns during the twenty or so years it’s taken me to go from writing to being published. If I hadn’t let the stack of rejection letters shake my confidence, I think it would have been a significantly shorter trip.

My story, Bondage Anniversary, is about another woman who let her insecurities rule her life. To the outside world, she had her shit together. Behind closed doors…well it wasn’t pretty. She allowed her poor body image and fear that her husband didn’t share her same sexual appetites to eat away at the foundation of their marriage.

Has there been a time in your life when you let fear keep you from doing what your heart told you was right?

Yes I have. After about 10 years of marriage, I came to realize I wanted a closer, tighter bond with my wife. Things were good, but I wanted more.
I was scared to death if I told her, it would ruin what we already had. I put off telling her for months.
When I finally got the nerve to speak up, she said she wanted the same thing but, see if this sounds familiar, she was afraid to tell me.
Our marriage is better now than I could ever have imagined. My only regret is not telling her sooner.

I can’t wait to read the new book. It sounds like a great story.
